Ben Tesdahl, an Of Counsel of Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville P.C., holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the  U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Science degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Oregon Law School, where he was selected to the national law school honor society, Order of the Coif. He was also an associate editor of the Oregon Law Review and received both of the review's annual awards for editorial excellence and outstanding achievement. After completing his law degree, He earned a Master of Laws degree in taxation, with distinction, from Georgetown University.

Ben provides advice on relevant collateral areas of law, such as the nonprofit postal regulations, charitable fund-raising statutes, general
contract law, and trademark and copyright law and specializes in the law of tax-exempt organizations. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center, co-author of Intermediate Sanctions: Curbing Nonprofit Abuse, and wrote a monthly tax column for the Exempt Organization Tax Review.

Ben is a member of the American Bar Association's Committee on Exempt Organizations, the Exempt Organizations Committee of the District of Columbia Bar, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Counsel
of Editorial Advisors of the National Center for Nonprofit Boards. He was also co-chair of an American Bar Association subcommittee on tax-exempt entities. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Oregon, Washington, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
