Capitol Hill Ocean Week 2007
Capitol Hill Ocean Week 2007 brought together a wide-range of stakeholders to discuss current ocean and coastal issues. Panel speakers included Members of Congress, as well as representatives of federal and state governments, industry, academia, and nonprofit organizations.
In conjunction with Capitol Hill Ocean Week 2007, the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation (NMSF) held its Annual Leadership Awards Dinner on June 5, 2007. The NMSF presented its Leadership Award to Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey, and its Lifetime Achievement Award to NOAA’s first administrator, Dr. Robert M. White. In addition, the Foundation presented the 2007 Volunteer of the Year Award to Brian Diveley for his work with Monitor National Marine Sanctuary.
