NMSF Honored to be Part of the Combined Federal Campaign Again
Attention federal employees! The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) season is now upon us, and the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation is honored to once again be part of this great fundraising opportunity. Designating your dollars of support to the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation (#10762) is an excellent way to help protect, promote, and preserve our nation’s underwater treasures. Your valuable dollars go to support our innovative education programs, such as Ocean for Life, which brings together students from across the world to study about our oceans, and MERITO (Multicultural Education for Resource Issues Threatening Oceans). Your donations also support our annual ocean policy and management educational symposium Capitol Hill Ocean Week. By designating funds to the Foundation you help us support programs and initiatives in local communities across the country, such as visitor centers in Monterey Bay and the Florida Keys. If you are not a federal employee, feel free to explore other ways you can donate by clicking here.
CFC is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign. Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal, and military donors during the campaign season (September 1st to December 15th) support tax-exempt charities determined by the IRS code
501(c)3. Charities that apply to receive funds through the CFC are required to submit to extensive review of their financial and governance practices prior to acceptance. This eligibility review has helped set standards for participation in giving. Of the one million charities operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5%, meet or exceed these standards, and the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation is proud to be one of them.
If you are eligible and interested in supporting the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation through the CFC campaign, please find the CFC Campaign near you. The CFC number for the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation is 10762.
