Dr. Kathryn Clark

Kathryn Clark is the President of Docere, a company specializing in science and education.  Docere’s science priorities focus on Human Factors Engineering, which combines Dr. Clark’s background in kinesiology and muscle physiology with her experience in human space flight. In this capacity she also serves on the NASA Special Task Force on the International Space Station.  Docere’s education arm is dedicated to helping teachers engage students through the Internet and exciting educational tools

Dr. Clark spent four years at NASA Headquarters, two of them as NASA's Chief Scientist for the International Space Station Program and two years as NASA's Chief Scientist for the Human Exploration & Development of Space Enterprise. An airline pilot who is a member of National Society of Women Pilots, Clark has served in leadership positions on the boards of multiple agencies.  Her accolades include numerous NASA awards, including the NASA Public Service Medal, and the Russian Medal of Service for her work on the joint Russian-US Task Force on the International Space Station.  She was inducted into the National Women’s Museum in 2001. 

She received a Master's and a Doctoral degree in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan, and is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Geology.  Her hobbies include cycling, swimming, and cross-country skiing. She lives with her husband in Michigan, where she owns a jazz club.
