Dr. Veerle Vandeweerd, Coordinator of the Global Programme of Action for the Protection of the Marine Environment from Land-based Activities (GPA) United Nations Environment Programme, delivered the morning keynote address during "Wonders of the Ocean World: Exploring, Monitoring & Educating."

Admiral James D. Watkins, Chair of the U.S. Commission on Ocean Policy, delivered the morning keynote June 9th, kicking off panel discussions about "Managing Our Marine Resources."

Dr. Jeffrey M. Reutter, Sea Grant Director for the Ohio Sea Grant Program, was among the four panelists during Session One, discussing the importance of ecosystems.

Dr. Jane Lubchenco, Professor of Marine Biology at at Oregon State University, served on the Pew Oceans Commission. She was among the four panelists during Session One of Managing Our Marine Resources, discussing the importance of ecosystems.

Ehlers, Chair of the Senate House Science Subcommittee on Environment, Technology and Standards, opened the 2nd day dedicated to Wonders of the Ocean World: Exploring, Monitoring, and Educating.	Congressman Tom Allen, Co-Chair of the House Oceans Caucus and recipient of the NMSF Leadership Award on June 8th, opened one of the panel discussions during Managing Our Marine Resources.
