Capitol Hill Oceans Week 2006 Summary Report

What: Capitol Hill Ocean Week 2006 brought together a wide-range of stakeholders to discuss current ocean and coastal issues. Panel speakers included Members of Congress, as well as representatives of the federal and state government, industry, academia, and nonprofits.

Invitees: Members of Congress, Capitol Hill staff, federal, state and local government representatives, industry, academia, non-profits and other stakeholders with an interest in ocean issues.

Hosts: Coordinated by the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation in partnership with the Coastal States Organization, Coastal States Stewardship Foundation, and the Joint Ocean Commission Initiative. Congressional committee partners include the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; House Committee on Science; House Committee on Resources; and the House Oceans Caucus.
