The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation is proud to support the National Marine Sanctuary System through grants.
NMSF awards grants both through a competetive program that is open to the public and through a restricted grant program open only to the 14 sanctuary sites. Those grants fund education, outreach, conservation, and research projects that support sanctuaries and a healthy ocean. Since 2006, NMSF has awarded a collective total more than $1.2 million for sanctuary projects through the competetive Hollings Grant program.
Past projects have ranged from supporting marine debris clean-ups, to lionfish research, to education programs for schools and communities. Funded projects relate to sanctuaries, marine life, and preserving our ocean for future generations.
